About me

I would just like to introduce myself, I’m Charlotte, 36 and live in a small town in Worcestershire.

I have always had a love for arts and crafting starting from a young age and have never outgrown it.

I have been a childminder for nearly 12 years, I started making toys about 7 years ago for my little tribe and after been asked over and over if I would consider selling, I finally went and did it nearly 4 years ago and Smiles for Miles was born.

I’ve always believed that the best kind of learning is the play kind and I’m a strong advocate of play-based learning — where children don’t even realise they’re learning. I believe in child-led discovery, but also in offering the gentle structure.

Everything has been carefully tried, tested, and tweaked with the children in my setting. and all the resources are handmade by me, with, lots of love and care to feel personal, unique, and crafted with a childminder's heart.
